Families & Chronic Illness
Family
This clip shows a group of young Indigenous people talking about the importance of the various types of family support they have received while caring for a family member with a chronic illness. They all say how vital it is for carers to use the resources of their families, who are the people closest to them. This can include asking for help when they need it. This clip is part of a series in which young people discuss living in families where a family member has a chronic illness.
These Speaking from Experience clips feature nine young Indigenous people who share their experiences of living with a family member with a chronic illness. It was produced in partnership with the Chronic Illness Alliance and Aboriginal Medical Service of Western Sydney.
