Bipolar Disorder (also known as manic depression) is a treatable condition that affects brain function. It causes extreme changes in mood, thought, energy and behavior. People experiencing bipolar disorder can have moods alternating between the 'poles' of mania (high, elevated mood) and depression (low, depressed mood). These 'mood swings' can last for hours, days, weeks, or even months.

These 'Speaking from Experience' video clips offer first-hand accounts from people living with bipolar disorder. They discuss the ways it has impacted their lives and how they manage the condition. It was produced in partnership with the Singapore Association for Mental Health.
