Young People & Mental Health
Taking action early
This clip shows young people talking about the importance of taking early action as soon as the signs of mental illness are noticed. They describe the important role that family and friends play in identifying behavioural changes and the early onset of the condition, and say that earlier intervention might have lessened the severity of their own mental illness. This clip is one of a series in which young Indigenous and non-Indigenous people speak about their experience of mental health issues and mental illness.
These Speaking from Experience clips feature eight young people who share their experiences of dealing with mental health issues. It was produced in partnership with Orygen Youth Health , SANE Australia and Aboriginal Medical Service of Western Sydney.
