Young People & Mental Health
Staying well
The clip shows young people talking about different strategies for staying well, which include avoiding things that can trigger episodes of illness, such as stress. They say that a combination of approaches tends to be most effective for them, and that it is possible to stay well and to lead a fulfilling life with a mental illness. This clip is one of a series in which young Indigenous and non-Indigenous people speak about their experience of mental health issues and mental illness.
These Speaking from Experience clips feature eight young people who share their experiences of dealing with mental health issues. It was produced in partnership with Orygen Youth Health , SANE Australia and Aboriginal Medical Service of Western Sydney.
