Diagnosis

Video is Loading...

This clip shows young people explaining the nature of their personal hearing impairment. They discuss the extent of their hearing loss and some mention the type of aids they use (hearing aid and/or cochlear implant) to help them hear. They refer to other members of their families who also have a hearing loss. This clip is the first in a series that shows six young Indigenous and non-Indigenous people talking about their experience of living with hearing impairment.

These Speaking from Experience clips feature six young people discussing the impact that having a hearing impairment has had on their lives. It was produced in partnership with Australian Hearing and the Aboriginal Medical Service of Western Sydney.
