Young People & Epilepsy
Challenges
This clip shows young people with epilepsy talking about some of the challenges they face. These include the fear of having a seizure when in public, the capacity to obtain a driver's licence, the need to be constantly aware of hazards such as stairs, barriers to succeeding at school, the effects on their social life and the strain on their relationships with parents. One young person living in a rural community discusses his difficult access to medical services. This clip is one of a series in which seven young people discuss their experiences of living with epilepsy, providing students with information that will help them to better understand the condition.
These Speaking from Experience clips feature seven young people talking about the impact that Epilepsy has had on their lives. It was produced in partnership with The Epilepsy Foundation of Victoria.
