Emotions run high when a family member is diagnosed with a mental illness. Feelings of guilt can surface in both the sufferer and carer; contrasted with feelings of gratitude at the sacrifices and kindnesses shown. New carers are thrown into a role that most are unfamiliar with. Together, the person with the mental illness and their carers, embark upon a rollercoaster journey of challenges, extreme emotions and, ultimately, of self discovery.
