COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) is a group of long term lung diseases which make it difficult to breathe and is often a mix of emphysema and chronic bronchitis. It is the third leading cause of death in the United States.
While there is no cure for COPD, the disease can be managed to help people breathe easier and improve their quality of life, particularly if it is identified and managed early. This 'Speaking from Experience' title offers first-hand experiences from people living with COPD. They discuss the impact it has had on their lives and the ways in which they manage the condition.
“Living With COPD†was produced in partnership with Breathe California of the Bay Area. As the local lung health leader, Breathe California of the Bay Area fights lung disease in all its forms and works with its communities to promote lung health.
