New Program in Production with Alzheimer’s Australia Vic

7 Jan 15

RealTime Health is working with Alzheimer’s Australia Vic to produce a new series of videos focussing on younger onset dementia. The term younger onset dementia is usually used to describe any form of dementia diagnosed in people under the age of 65. Dementia has been diagnosed in people in their 50’s, 40’s and even in their 30’s.Dementia in younger people is much less common than dementia occurring after the age of 65. For this reason it can be difficult to diagnose, however, the latest figures show that younger onset dementia affects approximately 24,500 Australians (source: Alzheimer’s Australia Vic). In these videos, people who are living with younger onset dementia and their loved ones speak about a range of issues that they face, including diagnosis, changes to employment, and raising a family.
