A stroke is a brain attack, which can affect thinking, movement, speech and/or senses. It is caused by an obstruction to blood flow or rupture of a blood vessel within or surrounding the brain. Stroke is a medical emergency which can occur at any age, even in babies and infants. Getting to a hospital quickly is vital for a good outcome.

These 'Speaking from Experience' video clips offer first-hand accounts from people who have experienced stroke. They discuss the impact it has had on their lives, the ways they’ve managed it, and the challenges it brings to everyday life.
